Using Studio 3T with MongoDB Server versions earlier than 4.0

Studio 3T is continually packaged with updated versions of the MongoDB Java Driver to properly support the newest releases of MongoDB Servers. To support MongoDB 8.0, we needed to update to Java Driver version 5.2. Upgrading to this Java Driver version drops support for MongoDB Servers earlier than 4.0.

MongoDB provides this Java Driver and discontinues support three years after a server version reaches its end of life date. To take advantage of the latest security patches for MongoDB, we highly recommend you update your MongoDB Server to version 4.0 or later.

If there’s a specific reason why you’re not able to update your MongoDB Server, please let us know as we’d like to understand these use cases.

So that you can continue to use Studio 3T with a MongoDB Server version 3.6 or earlier, you can download Studio 3T 2024.4.1 (packaged with the older Java Driver), by following the links below:

Please note that we won’t be able to provide patches for these older versions of Studio 3T. For this reason, we highly recommend you update your MongoDB Server version to 4.0 or later.
